Wow!!Mr. Webb can easily add thriller to his genre repertoire . . .
This was one wild ride!!
Great MCs. They acted and behaved just as I came to know them from the first installment (this is not always the case with sequels).
Great chemistry . . . With the entire cast!
The emotion here is palable . . .my heart is still pounding as I just finished reading . . . .
The pain and FEAR . . Especially the fear . . . Is so well written. I could feel the fear and anxiety from so many angles . . . .
Ben . . . Poor Ben . . . Trust should be a four letter word, especially for those who have been abused and hurt. Ben needs to come to grips that it never goes away, he just needs to learn how to live with it . . .
Marcus . . .the holy hotness alpha male!! MINE . . . Ben is his, his to love, his to care for, his to protect . . Not in a posession kind of way . . But his. I could feel the level of worry and anxiety within Marcus . . And his reaction to a certain thing i do not want to spoil was perfect!
I really like these two . . . .
I need to read more about all the other characters . . .
Wick. Need more of him!
Off for an immediate reread as i highlighted very little, my brain just needed to follow the action . . .there are such great lines here . . .off to reread . . .
Oh, and i am sorry but I may just piss and moan about the cliffhanger, lol! I will try to be as dignified and respectful but those that know me know this is a long shot! Gosh! What a cliff hanger! Awesome!!! Love the tension! Love the anxiety!!
Also, the dedication ... Wow. Speechless ....

Pulpy and over-wrought romance. Will pass on this author, especially marketed in this format, in future. Try Madelaine Urban and Abigail Roux.

This is really good but short. Marcus and Ben are very damaged but they are drawn together. Ready for the next installment.
MARCUS, IS A LOST MAN. BEN IS AFRAID, AND HURT. MARCUS BELIEVED HE COULD NEVER LOVE AGAIN, UNTIL HE MET BEN. BEN KNEW HE COULD NEVER LOVE, AND THEN MARCUS CAME INTO HIS LIFE. MR.WEBB WRITES ABOUT CHARACTER'S WE COME TO KNOW, AND LOVE. TO SEE TWO LOST SOULS COME TOGETHER, AS ONLY TOM WEBB CAN BRING THEM. GREAT BOOK, GREAT PLOT. A MUST READ.
Webb gets better with each book. His prose, words and action flow. His story captures and holds the readers attention. The cliffhanger at the end made me scream in frustration, but not because it was bad. My only complaint is with Jeremiah and who he is supposed to be with, the contract, etc. It needs clarification. I assume Zachary and Archer will have a story.
Ok, I'll be nice, even though this book has the most torturous cliff hanger. Sigh. This book continues where the last book "City Knight Working It" left off. I love the two main characters, Ben and Marcus and their evolving love story; two broken men that find each other when they both weren't looking. This book also brings in other characters in the Pulp Friction series by authors Lee Brazil, Havan Fellows, and Laura Harner. This book is the eighth one published so I went back and purchased the rest and I'll try now to read them in order - not that I think you need to, but the backstory brings in some very interesting characters that I want to learn more about! This story is fast-paced, a short read, and will have you wanting to kidnap the author, lock him in a room and make him write the final installment. Wait, that's another story. Anyway, very well done Mr. Webb, you certainly know how to make someone's blood pressure rise! I can't wait for the next installment, but I will.
